In the Sewers of Frankfurt

Intro

In April 2005 I moved to Frankfurt. Amoung other things that meant leaving my gaming club and gaming buddies and starting all over again. So what do you do when you move to a new city?

O.k., you start by setting up your bed, your computer and - in girlfriend-ignore-mode - set up your paintstation and showcase. I my case that meant filling half of the showcase with dwarfs and the other half with Tau and Black Templars. But after all that it is high time to go looking for fellow gamers. A first search for 40k gamers on Spielerzentrale.de (a registry for gamers in Germany) and some forums wasn't very successfull, but at least there was a Warhammer Fantasy player that sounded nice and lived close by. Just as well. I haven't been playing Warhammer Fantasy in a while, but that would be the perfect chance to build a completely painted 2000 points army, that is suited for both friendly games as well as tournaments.

After exchanging a couple of mails we agreed on a small game. He would like to play against Skaven, and he prefers painted models. The gaming club "Ars Belli" in Mainz has a similar statement on its homepage - "we don't like silver fishes much". So it's back into the box for my dwarfs, and out come the skaven...
